  • Visa Application Attendees from most countries will be required to obtain a visa to enter the People's Republic of China. Attendees can apply for a Chinese visa through a travel agency or directly at the nearest Chinese embassy. If participants need a business visa, an invitation letter will be necessary from the workshop-organizing committee, which will allow you to attend the conference. For our international participants, we will issue you an official invitation letter with CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) seal (also called Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit) to assist you to obtain a visa to China. However, for some countries, the invitation letter from the workshop-organizing committee with an IOP (Institute of Physics) seal is enough for visa application.

  • If you need an official invitation letter, please contact us in advance. Please send us your passport copypage to theory@iphy.ac.cn, and also answer the following questions: (a) In which city you will apply for your visa? (b) Have you ever come to China? Is this your first time to come to China? (c) Have you ever come to China with an F-visa? (visit-visa) (d) Arrival date and departure date. We will use these information to apply for an invitation letter for you. Usually it is obtainable during one week.

  • You can use the official invitation letter to get a visa in the nearest Chinese Embassy/Consulate. If you need the original version of the official invitation letter, please tell us your detailed mailing address including telephone number, we will post it to you.
